MEET THE STAFF
Cindy Bourke
Practice Manager, student Nurse Practitioner & Nurse Surgical Assistant
Why did you become a nurse?
After many years as a dental nurse, I became interested in the whole person health presentation and decided to become a general nurse in 2008.
Tell us about your journey so far?
Since completing my Bachelor of Nursing at Monash University in 2010, I have worked predominantly in operating theatre roles. I have experience in various types of surgery, but plastics has always been my favourite as it involves the entire body and requires a keen knowledge of anatomy.
My further education includes a perioperative post- graduate honours degree, and I am currently completing my Master of Nurse Practitioner.
I have worked with Mark for over 10 years within the perioperative environment as a scrub nurse and started working in the rooms with Mark in 2021. I love my current role as it is very varied, providing a mixture of business and people management, pre and post- operative patient care, and surgical assisting with Mark in theatre.
